All of a sudden today, my computer screen went black as if going into a sleep mode. But it wouldn't wake up. So I restarted...windows xp started to load...then the black screen again and eventually a blue screen stating the problem was with a file named "nv4_disp."

It also said (and I'm paraphrasing here so bear with me) that "a device driver is stuck in an infinite loop which usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware correctly"

There was someother stuff about trying to restart and contacting your system admin. But that was the gist of it. It said nothing of what device was causing the problem, etc.

I have not installed any new hardware or programs recently. So this was totally out of the blue, which leads me to believe it may be a virus of some sort???

Any help is greatly appreciated. And I certainly need the help...I'm working on safe mode right now..which I got to by luck.

    Thanks,
    Chris
