    Hey everyone...

NBA LIVE 2006 won't work on my new computer. I am not sure why..but that's why I came here for help. I went to Live's site..but they don't help too much. Anyways..

The game installed perfectly fine..when I put the disk in..it loads and the screen comes up, but nothing happens after that. I will post my specs..and screen shots of stuff. My computer is like bran new!

    Intel P4 2.93 ghz [not overclocked ]
    1MB L2 Cache
    512 Dual Channel DDR RAM
    200G Hard Drive
    CD/DVD Combo Drive
    Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset*

    * I suppose this is the problem. I have updated the drivers too.

Live 06 has this easy support thing with the system requirements. If you can't read it..put you mouse over it and hit expand for the correct image size.

When I put the game in..it sounds like it loads..this screen pops up..but nothing happens afterwards. It just stays there and I have to take the disk out eventually.

Is it my video card that is causing this? I know other people with Intel cards..they say it works. I don't care about the graphics..I just want to to work. I am mainly using it for simming..not actually playing much.

    Thanks

edit: Also, Lives Tech Support says to make sure no background proccesses are on under the OWNER [ctrl, alt, del thing]. Except for two things.. IExporer and another one that I can't remember. I have like 15 or 20 things running under owner though..should I end all the processes except for the 2 that they say to keep and see what happens?

Hi there m8 im actually having a similar problem with the fairly new F.E.AR. game, i update it when i am offerd the chance to when i enter the game(but runs fine without the update  ).After installing the update i would click the shortcut for the game and nothing would happen.

What are the recommended requirements on the back of the game case?

My mate bought BF2 a while ago and it does exactly the same as what you say with your game(becuase his pc isnt powerful enough to power the game). Maybe your missing a requirement?(im quite sure you have the requirements but just to double check? Because theres always one little thing that can ruin it 4 you)(hope this isnt patronising  ) lol

    Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling?

    Hope this helps you m8

Hey, hmm I have already uninstalled/reinstalled to no luck. The game requirements on the case are the same as the image that i posted here http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/3312/easyinfo9pt.jpg

    1000mhz cpu
    256 ram
    directx 9.0
    xp
    32 mb display memory

I meet all of them..if you check the image though there are a few ?'s.

hmm yea compared to the system requirements your comp is capable of running it.

hmm ok do you have the latest graphics card drivers? wot grx card do you have just out of interest

maybe there is a program conflicting with the game?

Does it not say anyhting else about system requirements on the case? Sometimes there is a MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS and a RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS section

Have you had any recent registry problems? becuase a bad registry can cause programs to crash or cease to function

You actually have to register games these days? lol...I just always click register later. My video card is the Intel one. That is what could be the problem..but other people with Intels can get the game to work. Okay these are the full requirements:

Windows 2000 or Windows XP (Windows 95, Windows NT, Windows 98, Windows 98 SE and Windows ME are not supported)
1.0 GHz Intel Pentium III or higher
    256 MB RAM
1700 MB free hard drive space
32 MB DirectX 9.0c Compatible Video card
    16x CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive using 32-bit CD-ROM driver
Sound card with DirectSound support and DirectX 9.0c compatible driver
    Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1
    DirectX 9.0c
    Keyboard
    Mouse

I'd say the obvious thing is your video chip isn't supported.

You could also try updating it's drivers.
