Nbn & Landline

Apologies in advance if this is the wrong place to ask this question...
I have had NBN connected for a few months now, asnd at the time of connection I opted to keep my landline.
I am finding that I hardly ever use my landline any more....and it has just become an extra unneeded expense.

However, I have no idea if having the landline disconnected will deprive me of my internet....I purchased the required NBN router/modem from my ISP..DODO...

I havent rung them to make any enquiries, because I find them ( probably my own fault) pretty impossible to converse with.....
So I am asking for help and advice in here....
I am fairly technically challenged, so would appreciate simple terminology...

Hi Pammy,
With an NBN connection there is no need to keep an active telephone service. In other words, there is no need to pay extra for your line rental.
This will not affect your internet connection as you are utilizing data ports on your NBN router.

All you may have to do is change your NBN plan with Dodo to not include a landline phone service so either way, your going to need to contact them to cancel this service.

 

Thanks so much Replicator....this is such a relief.....I am going to have to wait out the contract time for that account I guess....but at least from then on, I should be saving some money.
