need a driver

I need to find a driver for my computer...I have the motherboard driver software but when I try to download the driver for my video controller it says that windows xp does not support it...how can I find the right driver?

for intel/via chipset
G02-CD2-OEM S/NO:031127D6

I do not know what motherboard or video card it is...this is what I have..video controller VGA compatible...VIA/S3GKM400/KN400 ..this is all I know:cry

Since you dont know the make/model of your motherboard the best thing to do would be to download everest here, run it and attach the file here so someone can take a look and see what kind you have and find you the correct driver(s).

I downloaded everest like you said and here is what I found out

The Unichrome driver is #8 on the list and 20M

 

Ok thanks...I downloaded it..now I dont know how to install it on my video controller...:cry

 

Unzip all the files it contains to a folder of its own and double click on setup.exe

 

ok I did that then what?

 

Setup will install the unichrome graphics drivers.

Follow the onscreen instructions.

Reboot your pc.

well I did all that...but since im thinking you are getting tired of helping me...I will find someone else to help me...so guess there is nothing more for you to say or me...

I installed the #8 like u said and I opened it...it will not set up....said set up will not complete the operation...look under windows log

 

OK this sometimes happens.

Right click on My Computer>properties
Choose hardware tab
choose device manager
click the square to the left of display adapters
right click your adapter and choose properties
Choose the driver tab
click update driver

When asked for location, point windows at the folder you unzipped the stuff to.

 

I did that and now it want let me click ok...thanks so much for your help
