need a hand with multiple downloads

i switch from iexplorer to firefox finally, i need to know what steps to take to change my reg key so that i can download more than 2 downloads at a time. i know its under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MOZILLA" I just need to know which of the three sub folders to put the new value u in, and what to call it, and what to set the value u as.

Try this link http://www.worldstart.com/tips/tips.php/1352 These instructions are for IE but it links in to Firefox information if you are prepared to surf a little.

 

Be careful with what you tweak, but to access the 'real' firefox configuration page, type about:config into the address bar from there you can filter key words and find the values you want.

Also, I recommend the FasterFox extension, it will tweak your max connections per server, etc.. for you.

Use at your own risk, as the tip states. I haven't tried it yet.

My IE6 Registry entry was already set to 10 downloads.
I don't remember tweaking the Registry before, but I guess I must have, at some time.

Unfortunately searching the Registry for Leechget entries, I was unable to find similar entries as in IE6. Oh well, worth a try. Bazza
