Need a MS Outlook Alternative

Recently switched my office email from POP to IMAP. Outlook 2010 is so slow with this. Does anyone have a recommendation for another program that is quick and works really well.

It does not have to be free.
Would be nice if it had contacts and calendar but not a must.

I doubt that the slowness is intrinsic to Outlook IMAP. Unable to wean my wife off of Outlook she did at least accept my switching her from POP to IMAP, and it does work satisfactorily. However you could try setting up an IMAP account in Thunderbird and see if the problem persists there. I use Thunderbird IMAP and it too works satisfactorily.
