Hi i recently had a problem with my hard drive which resulted in losing everything , including windows live mail, so to continue recieving emails i had a copy of office home which had outlook 2010 on it so i started using that , and just found out it was only a trial version which has asked me to purchase full copy of course i can't do as outlook 2010 isn't supported by microsoft anymore, so looking on there web site i'm faced with buying office 2016 ,too expensive or using gmail which i don't want to because my email address which I've had for a long time is everywhere, so the 10 million dollar question , is there a email program that is compatible to win7 64 bit and is free or low cost?

You can still use gmail and add your other account.

Encrypted mail servers are the way to go in today's online environment, especially when they are free, and hosted in a neutral country which provides you with anonymous protection that keeps no logs.
HTTPS over 'Same Origin Policy' ensures no privilege is given to HTTP, thus drastically reducing the attack surface.

Unlike mail in Win 10, proton provides for import/export of mail data for backup purposes, and you can link other accounts to it with ease.

The security specialists choice for an email client.

It really depends on what you use email for. If you are a low/medium volume user, most of it of a social or other low security requirement nature, Win 10 Mail or any standard email client is just fine. If you are running a business or have other security needs then an encrypted service might be advisable.

The mail app built into 10 is just 'email management' software where you can add any 'direct' email client account too.

You can add protonmail to your win10 email manager software if you wish.

All your doing is veiwing your emails through windows 10's management software.

The Windows stand alone email client is Windows live mail, similar to Yahoo, gmail, protonmail etc..........the management app in 10 is just a viewer with a pretty GUI interface.

Why wouldnt you want encrypted email security??
Even if your a nobody like me?

There is no such thing as a Windows stand alone email client as Windows Live Mail was killed off by Microsoft in 2016. Gmail isn't a client and neither is Yahoo, both are online email services. Win 10 Mail is a hybrid in that it combines many of the features of a client, such as handling multiple accounts and local storage, but is actually running online.

So whats your domain on the win10 email app then?

It can only be a domain you must add.....yeh?
A client must give you a domain to serve to and from, whether it be web mail, pop3, or what ever!
