That's not good! I hope you scanned all the cards in it so you know credit cards to cancel and driver's license number, if you need it.

I regularly scan the cards in our wallets so If something happens, I know what I need to cancel and what I need to replace. My husband and I carry a different credit card so I don't have to cancel both cards.

Never thought of that. debit cards need a code, credit cards will be reissued....more worried about Social security number. it's been more than a week, and no activity...Diane thinks its somewhere in the house or grounds....just a wee bit more stress in my life.

As you've already reported the loss, doesn't the issuing government keep a check of illegal use on a card reported as Lost/Damaged/Unuseable?

Also, wouldn't the new card have some sort of ID/Code/Number to identify it is a newly issued card which would invalidate the old card - thereby preventing anyone using the old card? I've been in a similar situation and had a brand new number issued, which invalidated use of the old card if anyone tried to use it (myself included had I found it after reporting)...and then, the person would risk having to answer to the police.

Bummer...such a bother having to cancel and get replacements. Hope your Government/Non-Govt Departments are quick to replace.
