need advice asap

ok i was playing ut 2004 online and my comp locked up,so i restarted it went through bios ok then a black screen wouldnt load windows. so i hooked up my old hd and it booted fine asking to verify windows and all. does this mean my 6 month old hd is dead or is there something i could have missed?

 

update to my prob..... it cant be fried cause i hooked it to the secondary ide channel and hooked an old hd to the primary ide and i can read every bit of info on it. im currently scanning it for viruses and dick check and defragging it. hope it works out lol.
