need advice on wireless broadband network

This is probably quite fundamental but I have no experience of wireless networking. Here goes...

I currently have broadband from tiscali in the uk using an adsl (wired) modem, situated in the office. I would like to add another system (possibly laptop but maybe desktop in another room. Being allergic to drills, cables and general DIY, I would prefer to set up a wireless network that will allow both systems to connect to the internet at the same time. Communication between the two units is not of paramount importance but may be useful at some point. Two questions really:

1. What equipment do I need to buy?
2. Who are the best service providers for this? (based in the UK)

Is this a failrly straight forward thing to do? (sorry about the unannounced third question!)

You need a wireless router and two wireless NIC cards. There are several flavors. For desktops you can use a PCI on your mother board, for a laptop you can use a PCMCIA card and you can use a USB thumbdrive NIC for either.

Unless I'm misunderstanding you.... your provider or geo location has nothing to do with setting up a wireless network.

Yes and no. You will need to do a little reading and posting. Most Routers come out of the box ready to go but without any security features enabled.

On point 2, I refer to service providers as I would also like broadband to arrive at the units without wires and I believe some will provide a free wireless modem while others charge a monthly subscription to allow use of wireless broadband. Any views?
