Well, partially new pc. I have some spare parts from my recently upgraded pc and I would like to use them in order to build a decent system.
    I have a mo/bo MSI K8N Neo-f4, CPU AMD Athlon 64 3500+, 2x512 MB memory.

I need to know what is the maximum RAM that my mobo can take and also sugggestions for the rest of the rig. I mostly need it for image editing applications (CS2, Corel etc). They are quite memory hungry so I guess I would need 2 or even 4 MB of RAM.

I might decide to build a completely new system. In that case what would you suggest?

    • Supports dual channel DDR 266/333/400, using four 184-pin DDR DIMMs.
    • Supports a maximum memory size up to 4GB without ECC.
    • Supports 2.5v DDR SDRAM DIMM.

Also, make sure that your OS can address all of your RAM. I think a lot of people have trouble making their computer have more than 3.2GB. I think it's just with the 32bit OS.

thx for the input guys. Now concerning the VGA, the K8N has one PCI-E port so we can get a decent card. What do you suggest?

GeForce 8600 is a good card.

GeForce 8800 is also good but it's hella expensive.
