Need Advice

    I recently purchased a gateway media centerwith pre-installed microsoft media center. I cant get this to do what I want. Im using a fta receiver and I cant get the media center to record input. What software should I be using, I want this system to use soley for music and movie storage and burning. im using a cable connection dsl.
