Well I joined a few days ago...downloaded your tool for fixing Windows etc and have perused the board looking for my issue but do not see it, so this thread is the lucky recip of my question because it caught my attention?

I have been having all kinds of issues with BSOD crashing during game play. I've read a ton online, assumed it was my GPU failing and a whole lot more I am not going to waste your time with at this moment at least. Then I installed and ran your Tweak program.

My pressing question now, is this! The windows repair tool I DL'ed from your site has turned on sharing of my Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service which is now ramping up my physical memory usage and made the problem I was trying to fix worse. My devices (various TV's in the home) all show being connected to my WMP in sources now and I need to shut them down via my PC and ensure they do not become detected again. I tried to shut it all down in each TV as well but it's not possible otherwise I shut down sharing Wifi as well unless I am missing the settings in the TV's. Regardless of that, it needs to be stopped in my PC and returned to previous settings prior to Tweaks changes. I would rather not restore yet until I switch this setting back and then see if Tweaks has helped with the other issues possibly.

I have gone everywhere I can with my limited knowledge inside my system to try to reverse this issue created by the Tweaks program including network sharing etc and toggled off all boxes I assume are sharing the program and even after reboot it begins again? I have done these adjustments inside windows Task Manager right clicking etc and wherever else the system directs me. I have even attempted to uninstall the service as I never use WMP but that was a ridiculous hope I know.

Please help me turn this sharing off so it does not run without my direction and then hopefully I can get back to the initial issue I came in here to seek your expert advice about!?

    Thanks.

PS- I chose this thread by the way because UFO's definitely exist. What we need to ask ourselves is whether IFO's exist. Once these spottings go from 'Unidentified' to 'Identified' then we have ourselves a real conversation. Of course there are objects flying around our atmosphere and until the day arrives that they are ID'd there will always be UFO's. I for one, am hoping for that day to come before I expire.

And PPS- You all seem like the kinda freaks I will enjoy immensely after reading some of your quips and posts! Let's hope I can get to that point beyond these other aggravations of this stupid computer of mine!

It is most helpful if you always post what operating system you're using and the exact name of the program that caused the problem; I would guess http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/tweaking_com_windows_repair.html but we try to eliminate guesswork as much as possible. If this is the program you used, have you clicked on the Settings tab > Log Location and viewed what changes you allowed the program to make?

*Edit: ..and you have tried this ?

First of all my Thanks to whom ever moved my question from UFO's to this thread where it will be most effectively fielded. I appreciate that. Secondly I will provide all my relevant info to my system as the issue is still recurring and I honestly believe after further reading it is windows related. I think my CPU and GPU are fine but not positive...perhaps a combo of recurring issues. Back shortly.

Well very sorry for the delay Doc. The PC worked okay for a little while although I used Task manager to dial back all of the CPU usage and memory and only ran the program I was using without anything else at all running as well as had my graphics dialed right down. But the issue did return and only seems to when playing video games to start with. Then it seems to ramp up after one incident and then becomes repetitive. I just ran the Windows tweak program earlier and so far the PC has held on but I have yet to try gaming tonight. My opinion is that something in my Win7 program is not efficient enough to dump the info that piles up during game play now that this LOTRO is so much bigger with the latest expansion and thats just my laymen's common sense impression as I am no tech expert as I stated. Its just what makes sense to me from observation of behavioral issues since.
So whomever said it sounded like a windows issue I think nailed it. So I am attaching a DxDiag text file here if possible which was what Standing Stone Games asked me to send them when it started happening awhile back. They run LOTRO now and this is when this started to become a serious continual issue.
I should also add that last year I had a site open and offer me Win 10...I actually think it may have been Microsoft or an affiliate but it was a big scam about how Win 10 was being forced into peoples computers because they were unknowingly clicking on the 'x' in the corner of the offered download thinking they were opting out and that sleezy move on the part of Windows actually began the process to wipe your PC and install Win 10. I hope this makes sense because I am relaying what the tech told me best I recall when he reversed the install. What they did was added a drive I believe to my PC to save my previous info so I di not have to have it all backed up and changed the configuration so the new drive was in charge for lack of a better term leaving my former info in tact and then installed a program called 'Never 10' which I am sure you are likely familiar with?
At any rate since then it seems the issues have been growing whereas prior to that my PC ran pretty well really with very few issues. So that all said after I attach the info you asked for and you look at it I am wondering if the problem does not present itself as obvious and if it does and it looks futile to change, is there any sense or use in installing Win 10 now if it is even possible and if that was done would it stop these windows related freezes, BSOD/black screens and general pains in my ass from occurring?

GRRRRRRRRR...I dont know wth the problem is but it will not let me complete upload of DXdiag file even though it sits in the cue when I choose file upload it does nothing after so forgive me...its getting pasted into this message and hope it permits it until such time as this file upload actually works for me here.

    Thanks again Doc.
