Need advise

Hi
Can anyone tell me if there is away to remove deleted files and create space on my hard drive.
I know there are programs that the Police etc use to recover data/ information on your computer but I have nothing to hide or there is anything illegal on my system. I only wnat to clean up and make space.
Can any one help or advise me.

Welcome to Major Geeks. There are many 'shredders' that completely erase any free space on your hard drive, but this space is already designated as empty so doing this won't free up any space. What you probably need to do is perform some basic maintenance. Read this link http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=106650 and follow the suggestions carefully. The program CCleaner is linked to and is great for cleaning junk files from your hard drive, but you may want to run one or two others just make sure you get everything.
