The case fan that I bought for my computer only has a 4 pin molex which directly connects to the PSU. What I need is a 4 pin molex to 4 or 3 (preferably 4) pin fan connector so that the motherboard and turn the fan down as needed (its kinda loud going at full tilt). Anyone know where I could find such an item? I can't seem to locate it at newegg.

I don't think its possible with the fan you bought. I have fans that have both the four pin molex and a three pin connector with only one yellow wire on it. The four pin powers the fan and the yellow wire communicates with the mobo. Mostly its for displaying the fans speed, not changing it. If the fan doesn't have the capability to change speeds on its own, I don't think the motherboard will do it by decreasing the voltage. One its not good for the fan and two its the only way the speed could change with a four pin to three pin direct to the motherboard when the fan isn't a multispeed fan. All multi speed fans have a second three pin connector besides the four pin molex, or a dial you can add to the front or back of the pc that you can adjust.
