I have just finished a clean XP install on a total noobs PC. This guy kind of sees himself as "fairly knowledgeable" with PCs but I end up having to perform a clean install about once a month due to his "expertise" with computers. Anyway- I'm in need of some back-up software that is totally noob friendly. He has an external drive that I talked him in to using so I wouldn't have to spend an extra couple hours savig his pics/docs every time I have to reload his OS. So I need something he can use to do incremental back ups of selected files/folders on some type of schedule. Maybe set it up so that at each power down, the pre-determined files/folders are backed up to the external, or every Friday at noon the back up happens, whatever. A manual 'over-ride' would be good too, but I suppose he could either dragondrop or use the ol' right-click-send-to option.... any suggestions on some EASY to use, total FREEWARE back up software will be appreciated.

    THANKS!
    :)

I've long used SyncBack for this sort of thing. You can choose how you want to backup - synchronise or copy - and it has a built in scheduler. Loads of options available to customise how you want it to work.
