Need Front Usb But Not Free Pci Slot

ok..so this is a work computer im dealing with here..its a rack mount server case...there are no free slots on the back....we need more usb and we have a free 3.5 bay...ive seen the usb for front in the 3.5 slot, but they all need a card in a pci slot...are there any out there that dont need that card or can use the connecters on a usb card or the board?? any help is greatly appreciated..

Most use a card that has a Backplane connector on it. I have a curious question, what do you need with so many USB ports? Unless you are monitoring multiple APC units, that is the only thing I can think of. On topic, you might be able to find a Rackmount solution for USB expansion. If this is for Thin-Client, there are Rack mount solutions that AlteCon has in their catalog.

 

if you have a free usb port on the back you can use a usb hub

 

its a sign shop...we have 5 big machines we run off the computer along with several other usb devices such as a modem...and i dunno about using a hub...i suggested it, no comment was really made...so iono...
