Every GPU i have ever bought.Never down-clocked.I think i am seeing effects of the down-clock being an issue during game play.It will max out the CPU clock and mem clock to factory settings. But once i exit it game it will down-clock gpu to 300mhz.

Are there any ideas on how to prevent the system from down-clocking the gpu. It's causing FPS drops in-games.My Frame rates go from 85 FPS than it drops to around 40 some times 20 than back up.

    Incorrect cause and effect -

Preventing the GPU (or CPU) from going into power saving mode when it's not being stressed is like driving everywhere redlining your engine by only using the lowest gear.

FPS drops in games most likely to be caused by bad game settings/drivers/buggy game.

Want a better chance of help? Post your hardware specs, OS details, display resolution and the game(s).

Might lessen the logjam somewhat but still not going to reach the recommended minimum grade.

Instead of throwing good money after bad on a dead end platform, drop the game settings to minimum at a low resolution and save up for a real upgrade that'll tide you over for several years.

Kinda figured that the CPU would be the bottle neck this case.I bought this cpu back in 2008.When it was first released.I have not been able to buy any type of good computer parts be cause of the Bitcoin mining crap ruined for most people.Things just got to costly.

Does this motherboard support NAND drives.

"2x M.2 support latest SSD devices
    NVMe support, up to 32 Gb/s using PCI-Express Gen3 x4"
    https://www.msi.com//Motherboard/X370-XPOWER-GAMING-TITANIUM.html

Case style is a personal choice but will it take an ATX MB, does the MB have the functions you need?

    I'd get a 'plain' Ryzen 7 1700/2700 (they overclock), an efficient top down cooler (Noctua NH-L12S ?), EVGA/Seasonic 650W Gold PSU, NVMe boot SSD, 2.5" SSD (games/scratch disk/2nd page file?) plus a spinner (1-2TB 2.5") and a 24" monitor.

Budget for a decent 1TB+ external drive for backups as well.

I was trying to find info on the board.I was not sure if the slot between the PCI slots was a NVMe support or not.I will probably go with NVMe drive much better in Speed.
