XP makes networking very simple. Sometimes you can find a wireless kit which usually comes with a hub and a wireless card. One machine will need to be a regular network card, so you only need one wireless card. Try our Geek Shopping for the lowest prices known on the internet:

Well, you can get a complete wireless setup for about 200 bucks. Maybe a bit more. your going to need a wireless router and two wireless NIC cards. WIFI router usually runs about 75-85 bucks, and the wireless cards are about 45-60 bucks. (i think) Now if you have broadband, you will only need once wireless NIC, because one of the machine, either the laptop or the desktop is going to be plugged directly into the wireless router via a network cable. I would recommend all Linksys equipment. Very reliable, and stable.

WiFI is not required to have any PC plugged in via Cat5. They make PCI WiFI cards too ;)

True true...im just saying that normally the broadband connection terminates where the MAIN pc in the house is going to be used. So why purchase a WIFI PCI NIC for the desktop if the WIFI router is going to be sitting at that location. If its not, then YES they do make PCI wifi NICs.;)

yeah, simple as that. Or you could both just use Wireless Network USB Pens, but the range of these things isnt very good at all, i spose it might be ok for just in the above room.

I wouldnt recomment these if anyones playing online games or downloading large files though.
