Need help badly!

I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not im not really good with computers but my 8 year old sister managed to mess up her computer and its giving me a blue screen of death and saying its a REGISTRY_ERROR, she uses windows xp and i've been looking up trying to fix it for hours and it says to restore from a backup but im unable to do anything, if i try to access the recovery console off the XP cd it gives me the REGISTRY_ERROR again and the same for when i try to reinstall windows, im unable to do anything and my dad expects me to fix it and im grounded until i do and i really need to go somewhere so i need to fix it ASAP can someone help, and make it easy to understand for someone who doesn't know much about computers?

 

Have you tried reinstalling from the XP CD that came with the system?

It should allow you to install without destrying the data.

Its a registry problem.

Don't destroy the OS by repairing it and removing most likely good copies of the registry.

 

Been a while since I had to restore a registry, who can explain how to do that? Geeks?
