need help building a gaming pc

Hi,
I just started a course on computers, my assignment is to build a gaming pc for $800.00. I am allowed to ask veterans at this for help. I need all components including monitor, keyboard and mouse. Anyone want to help me? Thanks in advance!! Newgirl

 

Since its YOUR assignment why don't you make a shopping list from Newegg.com and post it here for some input.

Does that price include an OS?

 

not to be mean but i agree, of course if you dont know anything about computer hardware it may seem more difficult then it looks, you can find all the parts you are looking for at www.newegg.com. When you get a rough idea and a list of parts post it here and we can show you problems if any witht he current setup.

 

Well it's possible, I just listed on my Newegg shopping cart a pretty decent rig for around 750$ probably could handle Crysis at Med-High at 1280x1024 with pretty decent airflow though, the CPU would have to be Overclocked but, as I read this CPU is highly overclockable. I just hope shipping costs aren't included and the OS as well cause those would bring the price well over 900$. I do think you should actually try and see what you come up with and let others guide you with what you come up with.
