Need help buying a new desktop PC!

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to buy a new/used desktop. I have a budget of around £450. I will use it mainly for gaming and internet, so I need some high spec. Can anyone recommend a site that can help?

Also, I'm confused with all the different processors out there. I currently have a 2.8ghz Intel 4. Is this ok for gaming and are there any alternatives?Thanks for any help.

Pick out a SATA hard disk, SATA DVD writer, etc.

P4 2.8Ghz won't last very long as the new generation of games are going multi-cores, unless you don't mind low resolution or low in-game video settings.

What games do you play? Do you want to max games out? What monitor resolution?
