Need help choosing graphics card

Hi gang. I want to upgrade the graphics in my HP (see sig for specs). It now has onboard 64MB intel graphics. It kinda lags while playing Need4Speed Hot pursuit. So of course, I MUST upgrade. LOL I have no AGP slot :-(, so I have to go with a PCI card. I checked my bios, and I can select PCI for graphics, and disable the onboard. So I'm good there. I want to go with at least a 128MB, but will consider a 256MB too, if it's not more than like $150. I would like to get rid of the 8mm movie effect, when playing my game. I'm pretty clueless as far as graphics cards go. So can I get some suggestions on what to buy from you guys? I want one that will run smooth as is, cuz I don't overclock stuff. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for all the info Mastertech. I knew the memory got borrowed from the system ram. I figured thats why it sucked. LOL I mean, there's gotta be some lag involved in that process alone. Strange though......The card you mentioned, is the one I've been eyeing. I DID some Googling, and found out pretty much which ones have a lot of problems. Couldn't really find any complaints on the FX 5200. So that's sounding good.

No lag at all. Smooth as silk. And even though my on-board graphics allowed me to set game graphics on high, I now see a ton of stuff that wasn't being displayed before.
Like shadows and other tiny details. Plus, the dust behind the cars as they travel down dirt roads, is now gray, instead of GREEN !! LOL LOL Very happy. You are the man Mastertech.
