    Hi,

I am putting together a desktop with 12 monitors using Three ATI FirePro 2460 Graphics Cards. Each card supports 4 Monitors.

I need a motherboard with Three PCIe x16 slots for those 3 Graphics cards.

Would any of following motherboards support them ?

    ASUS P8Z68-V

    Asus P8P67-PRO ( B3 Revision )

If not can you please pick one or two from following 2 sites ? Those sites are the only choices I have where I live.

    Thank You

I'd go with the ASUS P8Z68-V as the P8P67 only has 2 PCI-E slots(I'm looking at mine ATM.;)) There could be a cheaper mobo with only 3 PCI-E slots but if you want to add another 4 monitors at some point it will be fine. I've always loved ASUS products.:) Good to see that those video cards(other thread) only take 20W each.

A 650W+ Bronze+ quality PSU will do just fine, a bit over the top but then there's room for expansion and being reliable enough to not take out your expensive machine if it blows with the protections that it has. I like Corsair, others have their preferences of course.

I am getting conflicting opinions on both motherboards. Someone said P8Z68-V doesn't have 3 PCIe x16 slots. Only two.

Also are you saying I can add another 4 monitors with that board ? Don't I need another PCIe x16 slot ?

No it doesn't, I was thinking more along the lines of that your cards would work in a PCI-EX1 slot. I should keep my mouth shut if I'm not %100 sure!:-o Apologies.

    Multi-GPU Support Supports NVIDIA® Quad-GPU SLI™ Technology
    Supports AMD Quad-GPU CrossFireX™ Technology
    Expansion Slots 2 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8)
    1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black) *1
    2 x PCIe x1
    2 x PCI

Any idea what is " 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black) *1 " Is that a PCIe x16 slot that functions at only x4 speed ? OR it is not a PCIe x16 slot at all.

    And how about " Expansion Slots 2 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8) " Is it one or two ?

To me the whole description is confusing.

No, if you google that mobo(hint) then you'll see that it's only DDR2.;)

Why concentrate on DD3? IT's not feasable! Forget about it on a socket 775.:confused

Hey could you up-load a pic after your build is complete? I'd like to see that. :)

    augiedoggie,

I do want to sincerely thank you for doing your best.

I hope someone still would clarify what that 3rd PCIe x16 ( x4 ) slot is & whether it would work with these card.

Sure. It might be a while though. I have to order all the stuff after I get the right advice for correct component & will have to to figure out how I will put those monitors together as I don't have access to multi monitor stands.
