I cannot decide which monitor to get. I am using a Sony G410 right now, which has been great to me. But, I think it is time to get another. It is down to two:

    Viewsonic VP201B 20.1" LCD Monitor

    or

    NEC/MITSUBISHI DP2070SB-BK 22" SuperBright Diamondtron CRT Monitor

Please help me decide. This monitor primary use is playing games and watching DVDs through the PC. If I decided to, I could hook up an external DVD player to the Viewsonic and watch them in HD. Please vote for one and tell why.

Personally, I'd choose the 22" CRT, probably because I've had better luck with them, and I think that they offer better picture and performance. Also, flat panels can hurt your eyes if you look at them for too long!!! In my case anyway!!!

The crt is cheaper too and is bigger!
It's all down to you though!!!!

    Read this before you buy.

Check out the Dell 2001FP LCD reviewed in the Maximum PC magazine's May issue. The Dell passed Maximum's LCD test and the Viewsonic didn't. My friend has a 19" Dell LCD and it's as good as my Sony 21" CRT as far as I can tell.

Which model Sony do you have?

I was under the impression that the Dell and the Viewsonic shared the same LG display.

I'm not sure, it just says Sony Trinitron and it's about 6 years old.

Well, I ended up ordering the NEC monitor. I won't move it around that much, and I shouldn't have to worry about any ghosting. Plus, I can run my old 640x480 games on it. Thanks for the feedback guys.
