I've done a search and I'm quite lost.

Driver Manager tells me that I need new drivers for:

    IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers:

    • Intel(R) ICH10 Family 2 port Serial ATA Storage Controller 2 - 3A06
    • Intel(R) ICH10 Family 6 Port SATA AHCI Controller - 3A06
I have no idea how to tell what I'm looking for are the correct drivers - and there are tons of them out there that come up when I enter in any or all of the info above. I'm hoping someone can please help me?

You need to install your chipset drivers. What is the make and model of your computer? When you say "Driver Manager", is this a separate program to determine if your drivers are up to date? Pay no attention to that. Look in Device Manager. If there are no yellow exclamation marks next to your devices, you should be okay.

Driver Manager is a Norton program. I haven't subscribed to it because I wasn't sure about it and thought I'd want to do the various updates myself. But it tells me what I need without subscribing to it. (I attached a snip of it.)

My computer is one I assembled myself.

I went to the Device Manager and it just shows me a list of devices. Doesn't appear to show anything whether it's outdated or not, as far as I can see. And when looking at any of the drop down menus, I don't see any mention of anything pertaining to that either.

If you look at the program window Driver Manager is not a Norton Program. They are only partnered with Norton which is a totally different thing. If you go into Device Manager and you do not see any yellow exclamation marks next to your devices, then there is not need to update your drivers. The only reason I could think of updating if you do not see a yellow exclamation mark would because your computer is not performing correctly. If you do not notice a problem with your computer, leave it alone.

Here is an image of the yellow exclamation mark I was talking about. See if you have any under system devices.
