Need Help! FireWire!

Well i have a digital video camera and i got it along time ago so it came with a old USB 1.0 cable for transfering media onto my comuter and the resolution is crap when i transfer video, so my alternative was to go get a firewire 4pin(camera) to 6pin(computer) i went and got that hooked into my camera then relized i didnt have a freakin 6pin firewire connection on my Computer!! Argggg i was mad at dell for selling me this crap with no dam firewire setup! grrr so i called my friends over at some computer shop and they told me i can get a firewire to USB adapter but they of course dont carry it, so i called CompUSA and they said that is not in existance only a USB to Firewire, there is no Firewire to USB! ARG, so they said my only alternative was to find a shop or place that sells a Firewire adapter that i would have to install into the back of my Comp!, i was like, is that ez?, they said who ever you buy it from should install it for free, well if any one has any help for me what so ever or anycommments, or a place i can get this or anything that can help ! PLZ help, thx in advance!
