    Hello all again,

I've managed to obtain a new system and the specs are as below. I've actually managed to get day of defeat working by I have serious lag issues.

I've spoken to one or two people who are actually playing the game and have managed to find out my fps, which is 9.

    Now,

As i'm quite new to all of this i understand that this is my frame rate per second.

So, My question based on the spec of this system below is

"Will this system be able to smoothly run this game". I don't have a graphics card on this system. I'm using the Intel Grantsdale-G i915GV.

Can I increase the fps. I've had a look at changing the config and trying to run it but i'm not so sure that it's actually working.

I've already reduced all the grahics to low, reduced the resolution and have even installed game booster(which i dont think makes any real difference).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

FPS of around 30 is normally considered to be the minimum for a reasonably smooth experience, I don't see you being able to approach that on a GMA 900 graphics chip, you'd need an add-in card to make any real difference.

Do you have an AGP x4 or x8 slot if the board is lacking pci-e? My pentium 4 is AGP.

you can nab a decent Radeon 9500-9600 for $20 or less, make sure it has the 128-bit memory interface, not the 64-bit and that it has a fan and heatsink, not just the passive-style heatsink found on some. and then all you need to do is use AtiTool (or something similar like rivatuner if it's not an Ati card) to overclock your card which is very easy using AtiTool.

I normally wouldnt recommend this route, but since you have no pci-e slot, AGP would be your only alternative. My radeon 9550 scores almost 4000 3d marks in 3dmark03 with an overclock, 3000 at stock speeds.

and I'm sure there are a few AGP cards that will smoke my Radeon for less than $30 used :)

you may also want more than 759Mb of RAM, i'm not sure on that games requirements, but 759Mb is cutting it short for games.

I wonder if there is some confusion re: sys requirements, is the OP talking about DoD:Source or the "old" DoD (a mod for the "old" Half Life) but I wonder does anyone actually still play it? The Source version is Im sure much more system hungry. My 2 cents.

It is below the recommended requirements for DoD:Source, I know that much...
