I have an AOpen MX46L motherboard with a SiS650GX chipset. I am using Windows XP Home edition. I had a problem that gave me a bluescreen and a "serious problem" warning from the operating system. I let the operating system send an error report that referred me to a SiS driver update site. The drivers there were for different series drivers than listed by AOpen for my motherboard. So I searched and found the driver updates for the SiS650GX. My problem is that two driver updates are listed for the SiS650GX using Windows XP, one for UniVGA2 (older) and one under UniVGA3. I don't know which one to use. Can anyone please give me some direction?

Thank you for your help. You are correct. I just got a response from the SiS webmaster this am. They do not have technical support for end users so I created a question about the ambiguity of the web page info and basically incorporated a question. The answer came back that I could use either one but the UniVGA3 is the newest. I never did find out the difference between the 2 and the 3. They have other mistakes too. For example their IDE update does not list the SiS650GX chipset in the update list but they mention the 650 and the M650 (twice). I found out it is good for the GX also even though it isn't mentioned. I appreciate your help, thank you.

My next project is to build a high performance computer. I will first refine a concept and then pick a case, power supply and motherboard. Do you know where I may find a online guide with the latest hardware info available or top rated products?

yes alot on makers drivers, even tho they dont mention a chipset by name are unified to work with many different chipsets.

as for a new PC... First thing is to write down what you want to use it for and how much your planning on spending.
