Need help getting into a vaio to cool it down

Hello,

Does anyone know how to get into one? or know where I can find instructions..?

I have a sony Vaio PCG FR 315m and its running really hot, 65C, the fan is on constantly but when its get really really hot, up in 75+, the high speed fan goes on and off every second - I figure it should probably stay on until its really brought the temperature down...

Anyway, i'm trying to get inside the laptop to give the fans and heat sinks a good old clean but i can not figure out how to get into it! I've taken out every screw I can find and removed loads of keys form the keyboard to try and find hidden ones... but no joy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

65c isn't really hot for a laptop tbh, they're going to run hotter than desktop pcs and the designers take this into consideration.

With regards to opening it, check to make sure it won't void your warranty (unless it's out of warranty/you don't care about that!)

There's usually something under the keyboard so you may have to remove the keyboard too.

 

Cheers for that, I dont mind in the slightest if I void the warrenty, that expired ages ago.

What sort of thing would there be under the keyboard? i've tried taking off a selection of keys to find screws but with no joy, is there some sort of special trick to Vaio's that I dont know about?

Any tips or tricks would be most greatful... I realise 65C isn't all that hot but I would like to get it cooler as its flippin noisey and the temp is definately slowing it down. i just feel it needs a bit of a dusting...
