My wife's computer has Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP2. She usually downloads music and uses instant messenger with it. She also has a bulletin board she regularly visits. Recently the computer has been running extremely slow. All of the browsers crash and Windows has (not responding) on every function. I ran all fixes and it is better, but not back to normal. I appreciate any assistance.

Note: I originally posted this post in the malware section and ran all the suggested cleanups. It was suggested the problem is not malware and to post here. Thanks.

    Hi Nealsandman,

If you have Microsoft Security Essentials installed, go to the Settings tab and turn off the real time protection to see if that may be the reason.

Thanks techsent for the info, Microsoft Essentials was the problem with Windows Explorer. Now I just need to get another virus software.
