need help getting started

ok so basicly iv been doing batch for a while know and have written tons of differnt batch files and masterd the variable command and all im im finding the limits of batch. so my next step is to open into even more expansive scripts and such so what i would like to know is where can i start learning java script and vbs from the vary basics

ps: also bash would be nice as it is always good to have a backup for if you ever have to use it(like on some of my third party os's) and is there a bash equivilent to batch files

 

I'd also like to learn bash, but am not yet experienced enough to suggest any tutorial.


JavaScript has so many good tutorials... I'll list my favorites:

Before I found those, I often used JavaScript Goodies, the book and the js section of the htmlgoodies site (http://www.htmlgoodies.com/primers/jsp/)


For VBS:

The maker is microsoft, and here's their site with user's guide and reference: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/t0aew7h6(VS.85).aspx

You can also download docs from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...48-207D-4BE1-8A76-1C4099D7BBB9&displaylang=en for WSH, which I think includes VBS and may also include JScript, their version of JavaScript.

The W3C has http://www.w3schools.com/Vbscript/default.asp which includes an editor to test code, with examples and reference.

http://www.stealthbot.net/wiki/VBScript_function is a beginner's tutorial wiki.
