I just installed 13.10 yesterday in my PC and I'm very confused as to how I was greeted by a blank desktop (there is a background image) after I installed it. I did find some ways around that but for the most part, the system does not seem as user friendly as my Windows XP did and gives you the job of trying to figure everything out for yourself, unlike Windows. Isn't there some kind of easier way around this? :cry

PS, installing it in my PC was the easy part. I used a CD I ordered on Ebay since downloading it online wasn't working for me.
