I bought an ATI RADEON 9600TX AGP video card to play Doom 3 on, but I have no freakin idea how to install it.

Someone NEEDS to explain to me what the hell this crap means:

I have no idea what the hell this is talking about.

I do all this, and there is no option called AGP Controller.

Heres the main problem. I've never had an old graphics card. The only other one that I had was the one that came with the computer in 2002, and that is called "NVIDIA GeForce2 Integrated GPU". The only thing that has the word "NVIDIA" in it in the Add/Remove programs window is "NVIDIA Display Driver" and "NVIDIA Windows 2000/XP Display Drivers". Also, this is an emergency guys, I really need to play this game, so help me ASAP!! Thanks for your help.

I have no idea what I'm doing with computers, so explain it in simplest terms. Also, I have never had a graphics card before this. If you have any questions please ask, everyone is afraid of touching anything because they think the computer will break.

This is all to play Doom 3 on, help me ASAP.

whats your motherboard or PC brand and model? can you post your system spec? Look like you have onboard video card, you would need disable it in bios by press delete key or F1 when booting. or check your manuel for which key to access into bios. You can download ati drivers here if your using window xp.

You would need chipset drivers installed first, but it prolly already installed if your pc is brought from dell, gateway, or others if you havent format/reinstall windows since then.

Best thing for you my friend, is to take it to an expert and let him do all the work. IF your computer is qualified.

BeerMonkey is right. If you know nothing, you would be better off letting someone who knows something to work on it. Last thing you need is for something to fail and have no idea why. :)

I've learned more from screwing things up than I have from taking it to someone ;)
but if you're not inclined to take that risk, then a professional is the way to go ..
