    I had Dell XPS 8300 Desktop & had bought & Installed Windows-7 ( Ultimate ) on it's 500 GB HDD.

I gave that system to my relative except Hard Drive.

Now I bought Dell T-7500 Workstation with only DOS installed on it's hard drive to save some money & because I already have Windows-7 ( Ultimate ) DVD.

I took out the hard drive with DOS from the workstation & replaced it with the hard drive that I had in XPS with Win-7 already installed.

I then tried to boot it in the workstation but it wouldn't boot & gave error messages.

So I formatted the OS Partition & fresh installed Windows-7. Now it does load Windows -7 but first it goes thru some other commands as follows when I start the system.

Dell SAS 6 Host Bus Adapter BIOS
    MPTBIOS 6.22.03.00 ( 2008.08.06 )
    Initializing…..
Press Ctrl – C to run SAS Configuration Utility
Searching for Devices at HBA 0…..
Dell MPT Boot ROM Successfully installed

    Then it loads Windows-7.

All of above happens on its own, I don't touch anything.

So what is going on & what do I have to do get rid off those initializing commands ? I have never had this happen to any previously owned Dell systems.

Also I haven't installed any drivers yet but Sound, Video & Internet does work.

Do I need to install any drivers & if yes, which ones ?

Here is the configuration of Dell workstation T-7500 :

    Intel(R) Xeon(R) E5645 2.40GHz, 12M cache, 5.86 GT/s QPI, Turbo, HT, 6C

Welcome to the forum:)I believe the messages are the hard drive controller detecting its first boot device and/or looking for a raid array.

Go into bios F2 or del as the computer is booting, once in bios look for an option 'probably in integrated peripherals/devices or onboard device',look for a first boot device option or similar and select you hard drive as the first boot device, look for for the option boot other device and disable it and in the boot order set your drive as the first and only only boot device and lastly look for the option 'quick boot' and enable it also.

The wording for the bios menus maybe slightly different as I don't have much experience with Dell bios's,have you tried hitting ctrl -C and entering the SAS config? At a guess you maybe able to set up your first boot device in there and select only your hard drive and disable raid but again I've never entered that menu on Dell's and don't know what's beyond it so stick around for other replies.

How long does it take to pass those checks? If its only a couple of seconds I wouldn't worry about it.

    Agreed with Rikky.

I have an ASUS P6T Deluxe V1 motherboard with a SAS controller and the BIOS lists it in the Onboard Devices Configuration with Enable/Disable options. I would think the Dell is similar.
As Rikky, says if the boot up screen is only a few seconds, then displaying this option is no big deal.
