I didnt see in your attachment how much Memory ya got, you system spec's are towards the bottom of what XP need's to run, and the minimum requirement's dont make it run at it best.
What Im getting at is your system is taxed to start with and your running Norton which is resouce Hog, McAfee Too!
I dont run Norton but I believe there are some Issues with it & SP2.

When you loaded SP2 Was this a freash install of windows? That's usually the best way.

You also memtion using AOL 8, again I dont know anything about it, is it an older version? if so it may issues with SP2 too, maybe someone else will comment on it.

 

Thanks for your reply. I have 256mb of ram. I don't think that the resourse issue is related to one of my programs blocking out the other.(just a guess) My SP2 was downloaded as an update. AOL ver8 is just below the latest which is ver9, which I quit using because of various problems. I have used AOL since way back with ver3. I am supicious that my root problem lies somewhere with my different firewalls and as I use each for a different purpose hope to not get rid of either one.Maybe just tweak them.
