need help, not sure where to post

does anyone know if it is possible for a company to tell if you have UP to Date anti visrus software ( and others ) on your computer when you log on to their web site???

i heard a while back that walmart employees that worked from home had to have antivirus loaded before they would let them log into thier system. do they have a way to verify or do they go on the honor code???

where i work would like to be able to verify that users have atleast up to date anti virus software if not more.

 

If its not a company owned computer that they work on at home, there really is no way for you to actually look into their computer at the software they have installed to see if its up to date. However if it is a company owned computer, maybe a laptop or something, you can have them bring it in to make sure or remote access into it with logmein or something.

If these users are on the network, and you have an enterprise edition of some antivirus software such as Symantec enterprise, you install the server component of the software onto your DC, and there will be a Security Center Console that will update the virus definitions automatically, along with some other perks like if a scan finds a virus, youll be emailed, and automatic scanning.
