    my situation:
I have to finish a geography fieldwork report for tomorrow

    I use OpenOffice 2.1

    problem:
half an hour ago, after I finished, I had to check my spelling. I noticed spelling check didn't work proper. So I went into tools>options and changed some language settings. pressed OK, and there we go. STUCK
I didn't want to close it right away because I didn't trust the OpenOffice's recovery, so I waited for 10 minutes to come back to me. I didn't and then I closed it.
I started it again, and OpenOffice "recovered" my file, then I noticed (pretty obvious) that 5 hours of work was gone.

    Now I ask you:
Is there any way I can get my work back?!

my teacher said, there is no excuse for a late submission!!!

and I don't have time to start all over again. it's bloudy midnight here in Australia

    Maybe nobody has an answer?

    Remember, even Jesus saves.

Be patient, if someone has an answer, they will post it.

yeah.. only problem is that I don't have the time to be patient... it's a quarter past one in the morning, and I ain't gonna have time to finish my report.. and even if I did have time to finish it now, I don't have the energy and thinking energy to do this. So... I think i'm ^#*%$@ now already.. so I'll just hand in half my report...

Have you checked this location for the auto created backups that OpenOffice makes ( well thats if you have that option on )

    C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\OpenOffice.org\user\backup

also look in this location too

    C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temp
