    The scoop:

I basically have a fortress on my PC (WinXP Pro with all updates except SP2) ... NIS and ZA run 100% of the time. I run serveral anti-spyware programs, I have every possible security tool turned on with my wireless conneciton. I'm on Insight Cable Broadband.

About a week ago, I used my laptop to email myself a message that had embedded HTML (from a excel spreadsheet that I created). All of a sudden, two days ago ... Outlook was overwhelmed with non-stop CONSTANT icoming email ... all of which are that one email I sent myself about a week ago. It won't stop ... and each email is 2MB in size. It reminds me of a denial of servcie trick or something.

I called and talked with Insight Communications, but they only support Outlook Express. They did say that they felt it was a corrup Outlook.pst file.

I ran the Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe) and it found corruption and fixed it. However, the same problem exists. I tried re-installing Outlook 2003 and all updates, but the same problem exists.

I can logon to Outlook on my laptop, and my Insightbb email works fine ... with no email queue.

Thoughts? Right now, I'm hosed ... stuck in the water.

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

    BUMP ...

    No thoughts or ideas?

Again, my provider confirmed that there are no emails waiting in the queue to be downloaded. So, the problem appears to be specific to Outlook and the .pst file. If I check my email on my laptop, it works as expected.

    Bump ...

    No ideas??

Here's an update: I created a new .pst file and imported all of my email, contacts, calendar, notes, and tasks into it. I then renamed my original outlook.pst file to outlook_corrupted.pst file and then renamed my new .pst file to outlook.pst. I ran scanpst.exe on it (Inbox repair tool) just to be sure all was well. Same problem still ocurs. I killed all non-essential processes and also disabled all NAV with no results.

Some new news ... the SAME problem exists on this computer running Outlook Express. This surprised me!! So, this tells me it is not the outlook.pst file causing the problem.

I updated NAV and ran a full scan in safe mode. I then updated all spyware apps and ran those. I used cleanup312 to get rid of all unecessary files on my computer. I uninstalled Outlook and reinstalled. Still no results.

However, I can jump on my laptop and use outlook or outlook express and my email works as expected. Go figure!

Any M$ folks out there have any ideas??
