that might well be but he needs one for a 6600 not 6800, they are different coolers... ive just heard and read that people are having problems to fit them on some of their cards because they dont fit correctly. there are also issues with cards that use thermalpads instead of paste and therefore there was a gap between the cooler and the ram and gpu not allowing any contact afterwards. this is why i suggest the zalman solution.. which also has more options

I never stated a # for the silencer, I just said get an NV silencer, also the main website provides a sheet in where you can see which one fits your vid card or not. Havn't seen video cards that use thermal tape for the core.

well i got my card at 570/1014 and me and my dad think it could go higher. my card doesnt seem to have problems so back to the same question can it go higher cause its doesnt seem to even break a sweat at this point and i read an overclocking reveiw from auphaun online that they got it to 580/1265 without any problems and im wondering if i can get mine that high?

Don't feed your video card drugs http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

It all depends on airflow, how correctly YOUR card has thermalpaste and the heatsink attached; I mean if you think about it no MFG would send a crappy / untested card toa review website, they do some "prep" work and hand pick what they're giving as a review http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

I have my FX5900XT @ 495/950 with no problems. I really don't know about the 6600, but if you can afford a new card, then by all means crank that baby up.

I will vouch for the Zalman heatpipes though. I have a ZM-80 on a Ti4200 in another machine & it works great.

My idle system temps. Room temp 75.2f - 24c. All air-cooled. Dont change much from that after a few hours of CoD or what have ya. :D
