I haven't found anyone who has posted a cookbook instructional guide to overclocking this board.
let me tell you that I'm mostly interested in on line game play Medal Of Honor. My rig is a Vicious PC with:

    SK8N with version 008 bios, socket 940
    FX-53 AMD
    2 Gigs Corsair PC-3200LL Registered DDR 400MHtZ
    Raptor 74GB Sata HD
    ATI Rx800 XT 256MB DDR
    Creative SB Audigy ZS

can anyone walk me thru the values i can try? do i increase the cpu values or go with more video card overclocking?
chipset values< what mem settings are better than auto for gaming?
master ecc?what is EHCI IOAPIC enable it?
AGP SETTING? APERATURE SIZE? AGP FW?SIDEBAND? enable or disable?
CRC FLOOD, LDT to MCP2 values??
Guess what I'm asking for is are values I can use, instead of learning them, anyone able to walk me though? I mean I just can find anyone who has posted Values to try.Any help appreciated.

don't know if you still check this thread for a responce, but sorry there is not great overclocking potential for the SK8N if you use the PCI BUS (this includes the SATA controlor your raptor is on) as it is not locked as the AGP is. you might get the HTT in the 220-225 range depending on the devices you have attached, maybe not that high.

Thanks, yes i get any responses sent to my Email, and sad to say you where the 1st and i want to thank you for thAT.

i'VE BEEN ABLE TO go to 218 on FSB (2.63mhz approx) I installed the Zalman Resorator for my cpu and gpu since my last post and that's helped.

Not sure of the other values like HT state, CRC flood, aperture size, etc. No one has posted the 'walk thru' values for the SK8N board.
Any help there would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for the response!
    Regards, Dennis :)

think i finally landed on bios version 1002 as it seemed to provide the best features and stability for my componants. my system is opteron based, so i dont know if this version will provide multiplier settings for your fx.
max stable air cooled that i achieved was setting the htt to 282. to the best of my recolection these were my settings.

-advanced > cpu configuration >cpu overclock in Mhz [282], with vcore set to 1.65v
-advanced > chipset > northbridge configuration > memory configuration > memclock mode [manual], memclock value [200mhz]
dropping from 400 to 200 didnt seem to hurt performance as the architecture is not memory starved, and allowed the htt to be pushed much higher than the 223 wall at 400. i am sure your ram will perform better that the kingston valueram i used at that time.
    - advanced > chipset > northbrisge configuration > dram voltage [2.6 or 2.7v]
    - advanced > chipset > hupertransport configuration > ldt to mcp2 frequency [400 Mhz]
ht tristate enable was set to [disable]
crc flood enable was set to [disable]

this took my 1.4Ghz opteron to 1976.5 Mhz passing a 96hr prime95 torture test.
note that this was with an ide hard drive. once i tried to hook up my raptors i started getting corrupt data in the 220s (as the sata controlor runs through the unlocked pci bus)

hope that this helps in your efforts. let me know where it takes you.
