I've done a system restore to an earlier time, and done a scan with Trojan Remover, but it still happens. I've tried to uninstall IE 7 but i dont know how as I was told in another section of this forum it is IE related.

    I'm confused :confused

Hope you guys can help, and thanks in advance!

Do you get "Bucket ID:" followed by a string of numbers at the bottom of all that?

Can you system restore even further back? Sounds like anomther process is taking up your explorer's process space and crashing it. Any recent new apps installed?

hi, thanks for your reply :)

I get this info... Bucket ID: 355348554, windows also gives me a solution when I chose to search online, it say switch on automatic updates?? which are already switched on, and updated up to date.

It only started happening yesterday so I restored back about a week, I havent installed any new software recently either, so I cant narrow it down to a specific thing. :(

Cannot get any data for that bucket ID number.

Can you attach a minidump file if one was provided??

Also have you checked Event Viewer to see if anything has neem flagged there with the yellow symbol. May be that drivers etc need updating.

Im so sorry to be stupid, but whats a minidump and where will it be to attach it? I viewed the event viewer, where will the yellow symbol show?

Mini dump is a report that tells us what your computer was doing when the Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD) took place and would probably be located in C:/windows/minidump folder. Take a look and see.

In Event Viewer if you click on the Application option in the list and then on the right hand side will appear another list., Here you will have a yellow exclamation symbol by some items if there is an error. Click on those and post up what the description of any yellow symboled events are.

PS: You are not stupid.Only stupid question is the one that never gets asked ;)

I looked on the applications and services logs from the list on the left in event viewer, the list comes up on the right but there are no yellow symbols, Ive searched for the C:/windows/minidump folder too but it is not there

P.s- the blue screen of death doesnt come on, it just shuts down the window i was using and trying to view (my docs) and stays on the desktop...
