Need help pleaseeeeeeee.

Yesterday after I did a brefly cleanup on my laptop my desktop is missing all the icons,toolbar,can't right click either and my EI is not found either.
Just the wallpaper.
The worst thing is this laptop is used to work and I can afford to lose all my files.

Please can anybody help me please.

 

I'm using XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Sp3.
My system restore is not working at all .
I can go on safe mode but nothing happen just black screen.
The only thing I'm able todo is running from task manager any programs and I was able to install firefox from my thumb drive so I can access the net.
IE is not working at all.

Please explain what steps and software you used for the above.

 

I used Tuneup Utilities 2008 (one click maintenance)
And Your Unistaller 2008 Pro to unistall some old programs.

Boot in normal mode and use the task manager to access the Run command. In the Run box, type %SystemRoot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe and press Enter or click OK. This will launch the System Restore applet and should allow you to roll back to a date before the 'cleanup'. Hopefully the 'cleanup' didn't clean out your restore points also... *fingers crossed* Let us know if this works... good luck!

 

There is no restore points.

Before was even worst couldn't even get to system restore file was missing.

Any ideas please.

 

I did the READ & RUN ME FIRST and get all the logs but my puter still the same.
On HJT Log is showing missing files but I don't know how to fix it

Any suggestions.

If you have been working through the Read and Run Me First instructions you should be making a new thread in the Malware Forum, explaining in as much detail as possible the issues you are experiencing and attach the logs as indicted in the instructions to your thread. Then an Authorized Malware Fighter will assist you. The Software Forum is not the correct place.

I'm not going to move it as the first part of this thread was software related. Now if you are having issues and need support with reading the logs from the R&R instructions it really should be a Malware Forum support issue first. Once they have given you the all clear you can come back here and resolve any non-malware related issues you still have.
