need help plz ::(

rite my old hard drive didnt work so i'v got a new one but its a sata which i got a bit to fit the ide part on to mother board , my problem is i can't get into my bios to change it from the old to the new , nor get it to reconnise the hard drive ,helppppppppppppppp plz

This is not my usual area though I will try to assist until someone with more knowlege of this type of issue jumps in Ok .
I need to know more about your machine i.e... Make/Model if OEM or the Make/Model of your Motherboard if it was custom built.

In addition to this we will need to know how far in the boot process you can get?

Do you have anything on your screen? Does it ask you to insert bootable media etc. This will tell us what options you have and help identify any other problems.
