    Hello,

I'm running windows 10 pro 64bit, and all of a sudden, the HP deskjet 932c printer no longer prints. Each attempt to print a file or a test page results in an error.

This printer worked fine before. In fact, using another identical pc (hardware) with the same version of windows prints fine. I believe that the 'working' pc does not have the latest windows updates, while the 'non-working' pc does.

I've scanned the PC for malware, and have removed and re-installed the driver. The re-installed driver comes from windows update. HP suggests for this old printer that the driver should be obtained by windows update.

Has anyone encountered this? Have any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried this an almost everything else I could find. Nothing seems to work. The re-installed driver installs correctly. But when attempting to print, there is an 'error printing' message. The diagnostic tool asks for a usb connection. If I allow windows to search for the printer, it doesn't find it although connected. But if I remove the driver, shutdown the computer, disconnect the printer, restart the computer, shut down the computer again, connect the printer, restart the computer, windows adds the driver for the printer. But every attempt to print still displays the error. I'm sure that you already know, but this is an older printer that uses a parallel port connection.

Then I'd conclude that Win 10 doesn't support this parallel port connected printer.

I'd conclude that too, but it worked before. Then stopped working. A non-updated version of the OS worked also. I guess it's an update that broke it.

Windows 10 updates drivers. You have little control over that so it could very well be a Win 10 update that broke it.

According to HP's specs, that printer also has a USB connection. Might I ask why you are not using that port?

    davismccarn!

Thanks for the post! The reason why I wasn't using that port was that I have had that printer for years and had been using the parallel port and cable. The printer was so old, that I never even considered that it had a usb port. I used the usb port and the printer is now working fine.

Seems that somehow either support for the printer via the parallel port is broken or the parallel port itself stopped working.

Thank you again for your suggestion. The original issue still exists, but I'm satisfied that the printer is now working again.

    Thumbs up!

The original issue still exists? If what you mean is that the USB to parallel adapter stopped working, that's nothing new; they're finicky as h*ll and it winds up being the absolute specifics of the adapter and the printer's makes and models. Some adapters won't work reliably with any printer; some printers won't work reliably with any adapter......
