Need help removing all of AVG program please.

I uninstalled AVG from my PC to instal a new suite. There are still traces of AVG on my PC, and it is causing interference with the installation of the new suite. Could someone help me please? Thank you.

 

You could try a registry cleaner. Regseeker is what I use as it was recommended to me by various people on this forum. That might do the job.

 

I have ran registry mechanic and regsupreme. This f-secure through my internet provider still won't fully install?

I don't know. It gets stuck on the "preparing to install" box. The green tab goes to the end and then starts again and again...and again. I am running XP home and have uninstalled my previous Norton and AVG. I also uninstalled Sygate, all through control panel/add/remove programs. What else do you need to know? Thank you

 

The only thing I'm aware of that can cause that is an infection of some sort rather than a prior installation of AVG. (Pay a visit to the Spyware Forum)

A quick thing to try is to check Event Viewer and see if it lists any more information on the problem. (Start, run and type in eventvwr.msc then OK)

I would also do a search for any Norton and AVG files/folders and delete them if they exist. (Have hidden files and folders showing)

You can do the same for the Registry, but take adequate precautions.

hi, i uninstalled my avg through add/remove and then deleted the program files and ran registry mechanic all in safe mode and didn't have a problem, maybe thats some help

 

Thanks. I just got done doing that. Then I rebooted and tried to DL and install it again and still no luck

 

Can you install other programs, or are you just having problems with this one?

 

I could install 2 reg cleaners, just this one isn't .
