I have a Compaq 7500 monitor that I'm using with a double harddrive. The current drive I'm using has been reformatted and installed with Win98 then upgraded to WinME. I can't get the driver I currently had use for XP to work with ME. My settings are all funky as in I'm stuck at 800x600 (it won't let me change it to a different resolution, I prefer 1024x768) and the only setting for colors in the drop down menu listed is 16. I really need help trying to get this thing to work. I don't know how to pull up the specifics so if someone can help me do that too I'll be more than happy to do that. I really want to get this monitor working the way it's suppose to. I can't find any drivers on Compaq site for ME, only XP. So now I'm at a dead end. I really don't know how to go about fixing this. Please, please help!

    I don't have a resolution of 800x600. I meant 640x480, which is even worse.

You'll need to find out who makes the Video card, then go to the manufacturers website and get the correct Driver for your OS. WinXP drivers will generally NOT work on Win ME. Find out the Video card type by going to device manager. Not entirely sure where to find it on a Win ME box.

ME/XP drivers are not compatiable. Try looking for 2k Drivers.. windows 2k drivers very often work for XP (99.99% of the time)

He/she is trying to use a XP driver with ME in which they will need Graphic Card Display drivers compatible with 9x Windows, as ThrillHammer mentioned we would need to know either the Graphic Card installed ( be that onboard or a card ) or the Compaq PC model number/version as the Monitor ( driver )number wont help get the screen resolutions back to normal.
