Ok, I have tried here once before, and wish to try again. I have had apparently no trace of any immediate spyware or hijacker programs for over 4 months, but it's all beginning to rear itself again, as my SpySweeper has been catching Spyware startup programs trying to install. I've even been getting intrusive Pop-Up ads that even Google Toolbar has not caught... Must have to do with the accursed IE Plugin prompt that appeared a few days ago that I tried to get away from.

I'm gonna post my Hijackthis! log here and I'll need help as to what I need to get rid of, 'cause I can't identify what may be causing these programs to reappear.

Here it is, can ahyone help?

    Logfile of HijackThis v1.98.0
Scan saved at 12:03:39 AM, on 8/28/04
    Platform: Windows 98 Gold (Win9x 4.10.1998)
    MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106)

And ther you have it. Someone PLEASE help out bu instructing what i should do to debug my PC. I can't stand the spyware anymore now...

Okay... and just as SOON as I posted this, I got a POPUP from a stupid search called ShopNavi! Something is DEFINITELY wrong with my system! Someone respond as soon as possible!

HijackThis is the last step not the first. We have guidelines about posting HijackThis logs. In addition your version of HJT is out of date. You log has been deleted. Please follow all steps below.

Please follow all the steps in this Sticky thread < READ ME FIRST: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal >

If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.

NOTE: In order to resolve the issues you are having it is very important that you at least try to perform all the steps as outlined. If you have any difficulty please post back letting us know what steps you have completed, what you found while doing the scans if anything and details about any problems you have encountered in completing the steps. The more details you can provide the better.

NOTE: You should read the tutorial in this Sticky thread < Hijack This Tutorial And How To Post Your Log File > Do not post a HijackThis log until we ask you to and when we do it must be text document attachment to your message.

Update! Due to Hijack This logs destroying search engine and web site searches, we now ask you do not post your Hijack This log file unless requested by us. It is for advanced users, so if you do not understand how to use it, you do not need it....yet. Instead, please tell us in your post what symptoms you are experiencing so we can try and resolve it that way. When, and if, we ask you to post your log file, please attach it as a file. To do this save the log file and select manage attachments in a new thread to upload it. All running programs should be closed, including your web browser, e-mail, items in the tray, anything you can close... Close before running Hijack This!

Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder or choose run from the download. Place it in its own folder, for example C:\Program Files\HJT

Alright. My PC's symptoms, it's a lot of reappearing Popup advertisements from Shopping Sites and Free Video Game Console Offers, I keep avoiding each one, but they somehow keep returning every few clicks...

I restarted in Safe Mode, did scans with SpyBot, Ad-Aware, and Spysweeper, and each one caught the Adware called IEPlugin. Each one deleted it, and there are no signs of it now, but I still continually get these popups for such garbage Shopping Sites and Free Console Scams...

I'm at wits end that I must resort to using some shareware Popup Blocker, and they're still getting by.

    Any possible help, please?

There was a lot more in the READ ME FIRST link to run and provide feedback on:
    - check that you have all Microsoft updates. To make sure that you have all the Critical Updates recommended for your operating system and IE, go to Windows Update: http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
    click Scan for updates.

    - TrendMicro online scan
    - PandaSoftware online scan
    - CCleaner
    - and it would not hurt to try two of the optional ones CWShredder AND Kill2me.

If you have gotten this far without success, you should download Hijack This!. Taking a few minutes to read this tutorial is required before posting a logfile so that you can get the most from it and make it easier to diagnose.

Make sure that you tells us in your post that you've already followed the instructions on this page so we don't waste your and our time by posting a link to it in your thread.

HijackThis logs MUST be posted as a .txt file attachment.
