Need help trying to remove security update

KB923191... wont uninstall through add/remove programs.

 

try an uninstalling programme like smarty uninstaller. It is 30 day trial but if you want it just for once it'll get the job done.

 

Boot into the recovery console:

I.E., insert your xp cd into your cdrom drive, reboot, then press any key, when it asks. If you have a raid setup, you need to load your raid drivers.

The very first menu that shows, your need to press R for recovery.
Next, ignore they keyboard (unless you live outside the US), and then 1 for the partition of windows in question (by default).


cd\windows
cd\$NtUninstallKBnnnnnn$\spuninst (where the nnnnn's are the number you wish to put in there). I.E.
cd\$NtUninstallKB923191$\spuninst (press enter).
BATCH spuninst.txt
