    matter of fact, I can't even see what I'm typing here!

    I'm a novice. so please let your responses be easy to follow. I'm having a problem with seeing webpages & need HELP! It affects iE7, Firefox 2 (had to uninstall FF3 due to problems); Maxthon, and Opera. My computer: Dell Dimension 3000, winxp, NO CD/DVD drive--it's broken. NO A: drive ::::: in other words, I have no way to enter information on this computer except from the keyboard or download from the internet.
    THE PROBLEM: There's lots of missing/blank Information on about 80% of the webpages I try to visit..
    It's not just pictures nor is it advertisements. It's the actual webpage information! I can get the page in plain style by going to VIEW>PAGE STYLE >"NO STYLE" & see all the information. Also, if I highlight it, (i still can't SEE what's in the highlighted area), but I can then cut & paste into Notepad & see it.

    My activities leading up to this problem ( what I remember);
    Performed all the clean-up procedures on this site to remove any trojan stuff.
    Upgraded to FF3 and the WINSP SP2 patch.
    I began using CCleaner almost daily. Delete everything it found.
    I thought I had some trojan thing, so went into registry alot to try to find the bad entries. I don't remember ever finding or deleting anything, but it's POSSIBLE that I did!?
    Don't know if it matters but:
    COMBOFIX said I have a problem with 2 .dll files: MSJAVA.DLL error: "FAILED, THE SPECIFIC MODULE COULD NOT BE FOUND" and MSHTML.DLL error "WAS LOADED BU THE DLL REGISTER SERVER ENTRY POINT WAS NOT FOUND. THIS FILE CAN NOT BE REGISTERED."

    WHAT i've TRIED so far:
    1. Reinstalled Net.framework
    2. Did this: Start run temp delete all the files here > start run %temp% Delete all files here > Start run prefetch Delete all files here
    3. And this: Tools -> clear private data -> and erase everything in firefox (uncheck saved passwords), Reset DNS, by going to Start -> Run -> type in 'cmd' -> type in 'ipsconfig /release' -> 'ipsconfig /flushdns' -> 'ipsconfig /renew' in that order.

    PLEEZE, help. I'd like to know what could have caused this? And, of COURSE, the easist way to fix it. (I'm going to try to get a screen shot & post back in a few minutes).

    My son’s computer was having all sorts of strange problems not over urgent as we have three other computers in the house and anyway who wants to work on a computer when you spend your whole working day on computers. Someone on this forum posted a site which interested me. You can register on their site and can use there service for three days for free. As I always like to try out some thing new I tried them and now his computer is running very smoothly. If nobody can come up with a solution for you maybe you should try them

    Because this is cross-browser I'm curious if you have Java working properly. Hit the following link and scroll down to see if you see an animated character...Quick Java Test

    OR here is the link because of your viewing problems without http:// on a new line below:

    I'm still looking around--I'm no expert on .dll(s)--curiously there was a post here at MG where the problem was with hyperlinking in Outlook Express and on the 3rd page of that thread the poster had the exact same errors as you but the hyper-linking problem was resolved anyway. Not much of a help except you could try the regsrv32 fix(from TimW's post) for the two dlls to see if it makes any difference--it probably won't. It's the fact that your browsers aren't even showing the text version of a hyperlink that makes me think the fix for your problem is different than the more common "not being able to follow hyperlinks".
